But what is PTFE? PTFE is the original fluoropolymer
Accidentally discovered by Roy Plunkett in 1938 while working at a subsidiary of DuPont seeking a refrigerator gas for white kitchen appliances.
The properties of PTFE make it usable in various applications such as non-stick cookware, sealing tape and chemical coatings. PTFE is not melt procesable and so cannot be extruded with conventional extrusion technology.
PTFE has the following properties:
- Great non-stick properties
- Great chemical inertness
- Withstands temperatures up to 250 ° C
- Low dielectric constant
- Weather Resistance
